Center Policies

SCHEDULE:

Students (a term preferred over clients or patients) are seen Monday through Friday, beginning at 9:30 AM with some evenings possibly availability. Usually, it is best for us to have regular meeting times for consistency and continuity of the process. All sessions are pre-scheduled. No drop ins.

CANCELLATIONS:

Missed sessions are tolerated as long as the student can give us at least 24 hours notice. This includes sessions missed for any reason, including vacations, sickness and work, family or personal emergencies. If our schedules permit us to reschedule within a week, we shall do so at no consequence to the student. If 24 hours notice cannot be provided AND we cannot reschedule within one week, the student will just have to schedule at our convenience. Three or more cancellations within six month periods may jeopardize the student’s ability to continue at the Center. Two or more «No Shows» shall seriously jeopardize the student’s ability to continue at the Center.

FEES AND PAYMENT:

The Romualdian Center is a not-for-profit ministry of the Novi Kloštar™ Orthodox Kellion –a traditional eremitic hermitage– which offers its services at no fee or charge. The Center & Kellion are maintained and supported by the charitable gifts of the faithful, friends and students.

INSURANCE:

I Since we do not charge for services there is no need for our involvement with insurance companies or government licencing agencies.

CONFIDENTIALITY:

No information concerning the Center’s relationship and therapéia will be released to anyone else without the student’s prior written consent. This is in accord with the laws of the state of New Yor and with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The exceptions are rather extreme ones including serious danger to self or others, child abuse, or lawful subpoenas. In some instances, we may communicate, at your discretion, by cell phone, email, skype, or fax. You should be aware that these technologies may not be secure and your use of them with me constitutes an acknowledgement of the potential threat to confidentiality. If you wish, I can provide you with more information on confidentiality by phone or during an initial session.

CRISIS AVAILABILITY:

Students currently in relationship  with the Center and urgently need to reach Hieromonk Papa Symeon may call the phone number provided during the first session.  If it is necessary for you to leave a message, Papa Symeon will call back as soon as possible, usually within a few hours. If, however, you require help before we are able to return your call the student should take additional appropriate steps such as going to an emergency room or calling 911.  We are most often in prayer (we are hermits after all).  Or are out of town from time to time and, at those times give advance arrangements.
